area. As the community has grown, so has the demand for service. The demand has also been affected by the influx of seasonal tour- ism. The busiest part of tourist season can more than quadruple the population. The transient tourist population has also made code enforcement challenging, especially when it comes to dealing with code viola- tions in vacation rentals.
Over the past five years our call volume has grown by over 127%. We finished 2020 with 472 calls for the year. With this growth, we are setting the building blocks to transition into a combination department.
Our staff is excited to continue the growth and see what the next 72 years bring.
